The complete guide to connecting Ready Team with Xero
Betty's two-way Xero sync explained, chart of accounts, cost codes, bank reconciliation, and common gotchas.
Betty's Xero integration is a two-way sync. Bills flow from Ready Team to Xero. Chart of accounts and contacts sync back to Ready Team. Here's how to set it up and what to watch for.
Connecting Xero
Go to Settings → Integrations → Xero in Ready Team. Click "Connect Xero" and authorise the connection in the Xero OAuth screen. The connection requires Organisation Admin permissions in Xero. Once connected, Ready Team will import your chart of accounts, contacts, and tracking categories within 5 minutes.
Chart of accounts mapping
Ready Team uses its own cost code structure internally. Betty maps each Ready Team cost code to a Xero account code on sync. You set this mapping once in Settings → Xero Mapping. Most builders use 5–10 account codes for construction expenses (materials, subcontractors, plant hire, etc.). Betty learns your preferred mapping over time and applies it automatically.
Tracking categories
If you use Xero tracking categories for job tracking, Betty can sync to these as well. Enable "Tracking Category Sync" in Settings → Xero Advanced. Betty will create a tracking category option for each Ready Team job and assign costs accordingly.
Common gotchas
The most common issue is contacts. Betty matches supplier names in invoices to Xero contacts. If a supplier's name in their invoice doesn't exactly match their Xero contact name, Betty will flag it for your review rather than auto-syncing. Resolve by standardising contact names, or using Xero's contact aliases feature.
Bank reconciliation works as normal. Betty pushes bills to Xero as awaiting payment, so your bank reconciliation picks them up when payment is made through your normal process.
